TPU
Bova
Base material: Medical TPU
Excellent biocompatibility (compliant with ISO 10993 standard), flexibility, chemical resistance (such as disinfectants), and abrasion resistance.
It can safely come into contact with blood and tissues and remain stable in the body; the catheter is flexible and durable and can adapt to the complex human body environment.
Structural design: thin-walled
The tube wall is very thin, which allows for maximizing the inner diameter while keeping the outer diameter constant.
Under the same puncture trauma, providing a larger fluid channel facilitates the delivery of high-viscosity fluids or the simultaneous passage of guidewires; or, while ensuring the same flow rate, achieving a smaller catheter outer diameter reduces damage to blood vessels and tissues.
Appearance characteristics: Black
Coloring is achieved by adding medical-grade black masterbatch, while ensuring that the dye itself is also biocompatible.
Primarily used in laser surgery: The black material efficiently absorbs laser energy of specific wavelengths, instantly generating heat for vaporizing and removing diseased tissue (such as the prostate or tumors). Simultaneously, the dark color reduces light transmittance, protecting internal optical fibers or light-sensitive drugs.

Thanks to the above characteristics, this catheter plays a key role in the following areas:
1、Laser-assisted interventional surgery: This is the core application of the black TPU catheter. In treating benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary tract tumors, or liver and kidney tumors, an optical fiber passes through the black catheter. The catheter absorbs any stray laser light leakage, protecting normal tissue. Simultaneously, the thin-walled design provides a larger channel for irrigation fluid to remove heat and debris, ensuring a clear surgical field.
2、Cardiovascular intervention: Used to deliver light-sensitive drugs (such as certain anti-tumor or anticoagulant drugs). The black tube wall can effectively block external light and prevent the drug from becoming ineffective before reaching the lesion.
3、Urological drainage: The thin-walled design allows for the creation of a larger drainage cavity with the same outer diameter, which is very advantageous for scenarios requiring drainage of blood clots or viscous fluids (such as after percutaneous nephrolithotomy) and can effectively prevent tube blockage.
4、Minimally invasive surgical channel: Serving as the working channel under endoscopy, it is used to introduce instruments such as grasping forceps and stone retrieval baskets. Its excellent flexibility can better adapt to the curvature of the body's natural cavities, while the thin-walled design maximizes the operating space for instruments.
